Small and Simple Things
He doesn't ask for much, our Jacob. His tastes are simple and unambitious in scope, much like his imagination. For his birthday this year he gave me the short list: a horse, a buffalo, swimming goggles, pajamas, a camera (identical to the family model-which we parents don't fully understand how to use), a playhouse, a play car with a real steering wheel, wheels that go, and room for six that he can drive us around in. He pledged that even though Charlie will not be the driver, he will be able to sit in the back and eat whatever he wants, even Christmas food. Who could ask for anything more than that, sheesh? Did I mention it can convert into a workable submarine (that he will also captain)? He informed Charlie that he will use it to bring back a pet "killer whale" that is "only this big (extending his arms to the length of a small toddler)- i promise, Charlie."

That is awesome!!! Seriously, that imagination is to be envied. I wish I could dream that big, and believe that it could come true.
